The Unfinished: Wild Realms

     When this all started again, this, game development thing, I took a course on Unity, ran through it and decided, I can do this. I phoned a friend, and I said, lets make a game, and what became was an unfinished project two years in the quit.

    There was a lot that went into it, and it was mostly from undesigned ideas.There was nothing more than a few paragraphs to conceive the game from. most of the art was simply taken from the web and placed in, the character was a free asset on the unity store. A demo was being mashed about.

    What was it? 

    It was called Wild Realms, and it was basically a top down 2d minecraft in survival mode with some rogue like attributes. The map was procedurally rendered , which consisted of basic biome tiles, a second map held stackable tiles like shrubs and trees . You had only one life with a HUD showing four attributes for the player, who looked strangly like robin hood. Energy, hunger, thirst, life. I went on a feature festival for nearly two years. I added a inventory system, placed in a day night cycle, rain, thunder, earthquakes, volcanoes and fissures, a crafting feature, a battle system, a sword wielding skeleton, probably some more I can't remember. It was a lot, and really, for a open 2d world game, it made sense, still does four years later.

    What didn't make sense to me was the agency of the game. And the overall purpose. But did it really?

    I realize now, with all the incoherent graphics, I was doing one thing right: I was trying to make a demo . In fact, I had royalty free music in the background - which is something I can do, but hadn't . That's how "not caring about the overall look and more focused on game play" I was.

    I still don't think it is that good of an idea, BUT I haven't really tried to make it fun yet.

    So , lets get to it. What needs to be changed? Well, lets take a look......

    

    As you can see, a lot to do. And please excuse my stupidity and mumbling , I already mumble easily and I also work nights so I am allllllllllwwwwwwaaaaaayyyyssssss tired.
